Celebration City Closed
We’re a bit late with this one, but we’ll put it out there anyway.
Herschend Family Entertainment closed Celebration City as of October 25th. HFE is looking at several options with the property which they’ve owned and operated since 2003. The site, 110 acres, have the potential to be an aquarium or even reopen as a newly rethemed park. Other family attractions are a possibility as well.

History Page Almost Done
We’ve been working on the industry history page as well as individual company pages. We’re happy with the progess of both projects and hope to finish by this weekend.

New Entertainment Company Added
We’ve added another major operator from the United States; PARC Management.
This company focuses on family entertainment in many forms and has an array of properties accross the country.

New Content Coming
Now that we’ve listed the majority of parks in the United States, we turn our focus to site content.
In the coming weeks we’ll be adding different content inluding pictures and the history of the park operating companies. At first we will work on the big guys, then the independent parks.

Cedar Fair Capital Improvements for 2009
Cedar Fair issued a press release about their capital expeditures for 2009. The company plans to spend $62 million in new attractions, roller coasters and family rides in 2009.
Six Flags in Qatar
Six Flags announced a strategic partnership with Oryx Holdings to develop Six Flags brand in Qatar. The park and entertainment center will initially be about 500,000 sq. ft. It is expected to open by the middle of 2012.
